शूटिंग रेंज की बदौलत उत्तराखंड की आने वाले दिनों में राष्ट्रीय व अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर की शूटिंग स्पर्धाओं के लिए मजबूत दावेदार बनकर उभरने की उम्मीद

38 वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों के लिए दून के महाराणा प्रताप स्पोर्ट्स कॉलेज में तैयार हो रही शूटिंग रेंज का आने वाले दिनों में जलवा कायम होने जा रहा है। टारगेट क्षमता के मामले में दिल्ली व भोपाल के बाद देश की तीसरे नंबर की यह शूटिंग रेंज बनने जा रही है। इस शूटिंग रेंज में 160 टारगेट स्थापित किए जा रहे हैं। इस शूटिंग रेंज की बदौलत उत्तराखंड आने वाले दिनों में राष्ट्रीय व अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर की शूटिंग स्पर्धाओं के लिए मजबूत दावेदार बनकर उभर सकता है।

राष्ट्रीय खेलों में शूटिंग स्पर्धा के मुकाबले महाराणा प्रताप स्पोर्ट्स कॉलेज देहरादून में होने हैं। इसके लिए शूटिंग रेंज का काम लगभग तैयार हो गया है। दस और 25 मीटर रेंज के 60-60 टारगेट यहां स्थापित किए जा रहे हैं, जबकि 50 मीटर रेंज के 40 टारगेट हैं। देश भर में सबसे बड़ी शूटिंग रेंज की बात करें, तो मोटे तौर पर दो ही नाम सामने आते हैं। एक दिल्ली की डा करनी सिंह शूटिंग रेंज और दूसरी भोपाल की एमपी शूटिंग रेंज। इनमें दिल्ली की शूटिंग रेंज में हर स्पर्धा के लिए 80-80 टारगेट की क्षमता है, जबकि भोपाल के मामले में टारगेट क्षमता 60-60 है।

भारतीय शूटिंग टीम के असिस्टेंट कोच अरूण सिंह के अनुसार देश के तमाम दूसरे स्थानों में शूटिंग रेंज की सुविधाएं तो हैं, लेकिन उनकी क्षमता दिल्ली व भोपाल की तरह नहीं है। अब देहरादून भी शूटिंग रेंज की टारगेट क्षमता के मामले में दिल्ली, भोपाल के बराबर में खड़ा होने जा रहा है। यह स्थिति उत्तराखंड के लिए बेहद महत्वपूर्ण है। तमाम राष्ट्रीय व अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर की स्पर्धाएं उत्तराखंड में अब सफलतापूर्वक कराई जा सकती हैं।

25 मीटर रेंज में दिल्ली से आगे निकल सकता है दून

दिल्ली की डा करनी सिंह शूटिंग रेंज में 25 मीटर की स्पर्धा के लिए 60 टारगेट की क्षमता है। 38 वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों में दून की शूटिंग रेंज में भी इस स्पर्धा के लिए 60 टारगेट फिक्स किए जा रहे हैं, लेकिन इस रेंज की संपूर्ण क्षमता 65 टारगेट की हैं। यानी दून की इस शूटिंग रेंज में आने वाले दिनों में यदि आवश्यकता पड़ती है, तो 65 टारगेट फिक्स किए जा सकते हैं। भारतीय शूटिंग टीम के असिस्टेंट कोच अरूण सिंह के अनुसार-पेरिस ओलंपिक में जिन टारगेट का प्रयोग हुआ था, उसी मानक वाले टारगेट यहां फिक्स किए जा रहे हैं। इससे सौ फीसदी सटीक स्कोरिंग संभव हो पाएगी।
